We are pleased to announce the expansion of our Anti-Ligature range to include the Kestrel range of anti-ligature architectural fittings.

Having recently become accredited and trained installers of the Kestrel range we able to offer both installation and product sales of this innovative range of products.

The patented Kestrel system is simple and extremely effective. It will securely hold a range of items by powerful short range magnetic attraction. When an abnormal load is applied the magnetic force is overcome and releases its load. The system will perform like this time after time with no decline in performance and, as there is no mechanical restraint at all, nothing can jam, break or wear out. After an incident, all that is required is for the suspended item to be held immediately below the magnetic bracket or brackets whereupon the magnetic force will then raise the item and click it into its correct position.

For environments where persons are at greatest risk of self-harm such as mental health hospitals (including psychiatric wards in general hospitals) and places of detention (prisons and detention centres) the Kestrel system is often specified. In these areas the incidence of self-harm by ligature is a serious cause of concern. The Kestrel Magnetic Suspension System provides a highly effective means of greatly reducing this risk.

We recently exhibited at a day dedicated to the members of the Southern Farmers buying group.

Southern Farmers is dedicated to providing farmers in the South east with a one stop shop for the purchase of goods and services and the day was designed to allow members to meet with the suppliers to the group.

It was a cracking Summers day and all the members that attended got the best of the weather and hopefully the best of advice from us on dealing with their security concerns. Certainly some of the visitors to our stand were impressed as in the ‘blind shopper’ judging we were awarded second prize in the exhibitor of the day competition!

Rural security has become a real concern over the past couple of years with machinery and fuel becoming ever more valuable commodities to the criminal fraternity. Our intention is always to provide strong, mechanical and electronic security to persuade would be intruders that they would be best to employ their time elsewhere.

The regions leading quality farming magazine South East Farmer covered the event and were able to report on a successful day for all concerned.

We are pleased to announce our successful registration with Constructionline, the U.K register of pre-qualified construction services.

Constructionline is a Public Private Partnership between the Department for Business Innovation and Skills and Capita. Our successful registration means we are now part of the Constructionline national online database which is the UK’s largest register for pre-qualified contractors and consultants.

The basic idea of the site is to provide pre-vetted suppliers so that potential clients can quickly and easily assess a suppliers suitability for a project, over 8’000 buyers already use the Constructionline database to source contractors and consultants for both private and public sector work.

Obviously we are not a building or construction company but our works as part of larger projects or particularly within the areas of access control, installation of doors/entrances and automation means we are often required to be vetted by clients or potential clients.

To achieve registration within the Constructionline database we have had to submit details with regard to Health and Safety practices, install/product disciplines, completed project references and values related to projects that we have successfully completed. These submissions were examined and investigated by the team at Constructionline to verify authenticity and adherence to the strict criteria they set out prior to approving a supplier for registration.

We are pleased to confirm that we passed all the relevant criteria and are delighted to report that existing clients submitted their experiences of dealing with us directly to Constructionline along with confirmation of the type of work undertaken and the value of that work. These submissions have contributed to the success of our application.

Entrances and exits are the barrier that separates the outside from the inside and therefore play an important role in providing security and safety.

There are a number of factors that determine which type of door or entrance way should be installed such as whether a door needs to be a Security door, a Fire door, an Emergency exit door or a door compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)? Perhaps it needs to be a combination of these.

Options on design provide flexibility of solution; sliding doors are ideal where space in front or behind the entrance is at a premium, bi-parting doors are useful where the opening width is narrower than usual. Various tints can be provided on glazed panels whilst solid panels and framework can be provided in a range of RAL colours or matched to corporate colours.

Sometimes doors and windows need a little more protection over and above their own locking devices, in these circumstances security grilles are often used to bolster protection.

A number of options are available to choose from including fixed bar, bi-parting concertina or single side concertina in a range of finishes. In addition the locking mechanism on concertina grilles can be included as part of a new or existing security key system integrated to work with other lock mechanisms around site.

Easily operated and folding neatly to one side or either side of an opening grilles can be an excellent security addition to selected doors and windows around a site.
