Most companies never experience an emergency due to a fire or smoke incident, they are rare occurrences. This doesn’t however mean they don’t take insurance out to cover themselves and deal with the consequences of an emergency should the worst happen. It’s one of the few circumstances in which paying for something you don’t use is actually a good thing.

The same can be said of emergency exits, Fire doors and panic hardware. Hopefully they will never need to be employed for their primary function but if they are they can literally be the difference between life and death.

Correctly specified emergency exits and panic hardware reduce the likelihood of panic in an emergency and dramatically increase the chance of safe exit for all. Fire doors prevent or delay the spread of fire and smoke and allow time for people exiting a building.
