Entrances & Exits

Entrances and exits are the barrier that separates the outside from the inside and therefore play an important role in providing security and safety.

There are a number of factors that determine which type of door or entrance way should be installed such as whether a door needs to be a Security door, a Fire door, an Emergency exit door or a door compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)? Perhaps it needs to be a combination of these.

Does it need to be 30 minute fire and smoke door or a 60 minute Fire and smoke door, which exit regulation should it meet and how can DDA compliance be assured are just some of the questions that should be considered when deciding on the correct solution.

At Poyntell we can ensure our clients arrive at the right solution. Our Fire doors, Security doors and metal doors are specified and installed with the exit hardware, security mechanisms, access control and automation reflective of the use of the entrance/exit, the applicable standards and DDA considerations along with the client requirements for aesthetics and operation.

Sometimes an entrance way can’t be solved by the installation of a door. Barriers, turnstiles or gates protect some entrances but the same considerations apply. In these instances the considerations usually apply to vehicles as well as people and our solutions are tailored accordingly.

Most of our doors and entrances are made to order to fit the exact requirement as we find it. This allows us a great deal of scope in giving our clients options on the finished product such as glazed or solid panel, RAL colour or colour matched, built in closing device or surface mounted amongst others.

As well as our own installations we are also able to maintain and service existing entrances/exits, make repairs and source replacement product parts for mechanisms, operators and hardware.
